Big images load slower and chew through internet data, meaning unhappy site users. So what is the best recommendation for image sizes? As a general rule, files under 1mb are preferable. Some holes have been uncovered in early versions of WordPress 3.9, we suggest if you have upgraded, you apply the latest version being 3.9.2 – this will reduce spam attacks and the risk of errors. WordPress 3.6 update

WordPress has released its latest stable update. This update may be live on some new builds – while not a lot has changed in the core experience, there are some security updates and also a change to the media upload interface that makes it a little more intuitive for adding images to posts and pages.
